Getting started
Which iPads does Colorkeet work on?
Colorkeet is made for iPad and needs iPadOS 18 or later. It works in portrait and landscape, with a finger or Apple Pencil.
Is it free?
Yes. Colorkeet is free to download and includes 54 drawings (3 in every collection) with every tool, color and song. Colorkeet Plus unlocks every drawing for $4.99 a month after a 7-day free trial.
Does it work without the internet?
Yes. The free drawings, collection covers and theme songs come with the app, so they work offline from the first launch. Other drawings download the first time they’re opened and then stay on the iPad. New collections and Plus drawings need a connection to download.
How do I open the parent area?
Tap the padlock button at the top of the home screen. A voice asks your child to get a grown-up, and a multiplication question appears, written in words. Answer it on the keypad. The parent area holds the settings, the subscription and new collection alerts.
Coloring
Why does the color stay inside the lines?
That’s coloring assist. Color is locked to the region your child touches first, until the finger or Apple Pencil lifts, so every picture looks neat. It’s always on for ages 3–5 and 6–12. Teens can switch it off with the Assist toggle on the canvas.
My child is left-handed. Can the buttons move?
Yes. In the parent area, set the hand to Left. The canvas buttons move to the right side of the drawing, out from under your child’s hand.
What is the light-bulb button?
It opens the Idea: the same drawing already colored, with its colors ready to pick. You can hide it in the parent area with the Idea button switch.
How does my child leave a drawing at ages 3–5?
Press and hold the Back button for about a second. The short hold stops little fingers from leaving by accident. Holding Back after coloring also opens the celebration screen.
How do I change my child’s age or the look of the app?
In the parent area, change the age under Child profile. The look, the tools and the drawings change right away. You can also switch between Kids and Teens mode by hand. Artwork already in My Art stays.
Saving, sharing and printing
Where is my child’s artwork saved?
On the iPad, in My Art. Work is saved automatically after every stroke. Tapping Save marks a picture as finished.
Can artwork appear on our other iPads?
Yes. Turn on Sync My Art under iCloud in the parent area. Artwork then syncs through your private iCloud to other iPads signed in to the same Apple Account. We can’t see it.
Will artwork come back if we delete and reinstall the app?
If Sync My Art was on, the artwork syncs back from iCloud after you reinstall and open the app on an iPad signed in to the same Apple Account. If it was off, deleting the app deletes the artwork on that iPad for good.
How do we share or save a picture to Photos?
On the finished screen, tap Share and answer the grown-up question. You can then pick a frame and save the picture to Photos or send it with the iPad’s share sheet. Pictures go only where you send them.
How does printing work?
Printing is part of Colorkeet Plus and sits behind the parental gate. You can print a clean coloring page of any drawing to color on paper, or your child’s colored artwork. Choose Letter or A4 and add an optional “Colored by” line to write a name by hand; the app doesn’t store any name. The iPad’s print dialog (AirPrint) sends it to your printer.
How do I delete an artwork?
In My Art, tap the ••• button on the picture and choose Delete. Deleting asks for the grown-up question and a confirmation. If Sync My Art is on, the picture is deleted from iCloud too.
Alerts, sound and storage
How do I turn new collection alerts on or off?
In the parent area, use the New collection alerts switch. Turning them on lets you set quiet hours (7 pm to 9 am by default). Turning them off deletes your iPad’s registration from our server. Alerts only announce new collections, about once a month, and never advertise anything.
How do I turn the music down or off?
Use the music button on the home screen or canvas, or set the music and sound effects volumes in the parent area under Sound. The music also follows the iPad’s silent setting.
The app is using a lot of space. What can I do?
In the parent area, Downloads shows how much space downloaded drawings use. Clear downloads removes them; they download again the next time they’re opened (Plus drawings need an active subscription). Artwork in My Art isn’t deleted.
Subscription and purchases
How do I start, cancel or restore Colorkeet Plus?
See Subscription help for step-by-step instructions. In short: subscribe from the parent area, cancel in your Apple Account’s subscription settings, and use Restore purchases on a new iPad.
How do I get a refund?
Apple handles all payments, so refunds are requested from Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com. We can’t see your payment details or issue refunds ourselves.
Can my child buy something by accident?
Purchases sit behind the parental gate, and Apple’s purchase sheet asks for Face ID, Touch ID or your Apple Account password. With Family Sharing, Ask to Buy sends the request to the family organizer.
Privacy and safety
Does Colorkeet collect my child’s data?
No personal data. There are no accounts, no ads and no third-party analytics or tracking. Artwork stays on your iPad and in your iCloud. The Privacy Policy explains the few technical details the app uses, such as an anonymous install ID for downloads.
Can my child chat with anyone or see ads?
No. Colorkeet has no chat, no social features and no ads, and every link out of the app sits behind the parental gate.
